优秀的词典: Babylon

昨天下载了最新的Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary & Thesaurus,加上以前的Concise Oxford Dictionary & Thesaurs,夫复何求?今天有在水母社区上找到期待已久的American Heritage Dictionary,开心~~这几部词典组合起来,几乎就是完美!好东西,不独享,我就介绍一下啦

Babylon 大概在1999年左右就推出了,不过当时的卖点就是“多语种”,英文、中文、法文、日文...常用的语种都涉及到了。不过当时词典规模很小,功能不算强大。去年我开始使用Babylon 5.0,其功能算是强大了。Babylon 5.0吸引我的几个地方:
(1) 有与纸版词典内容一致的Premium Glossary。当时看到的是Genium Japanese-English Dictionary。词典内容显示精美,查询方便,和国产的词霸有一拼。
(2) 能够随意增加、组合词典。在网上有大量的Glossary,甚至自己可以制作,很方便的说。
(3) 显示精美。浅黄色的背景,精美的图片,方便的链接,至少令我“爱不释手”。
(4) 多语种。英语、日语、法语、德语......都有不少词典,几乎都有Premium Content。学习外语的利器。

除了Babylon,我还使用金山词霸(我一直用2002版)。相比之下,词霸略好的地方在于真人发音,词典方面,我个人觉得,词霸太注重什么专业词典了,每次宣传都把专业词典当作卖点。而我自身使用经验来看,专业词典表现平平。我用到计算机方面的专业词典,也仅仅解释一下词条,没有进一步的说明。当然了,也不能勉强,又不是MSDN...

Babylon除了发音弱点外,还有不错的功能:
(1) 安装Microsoft TTS引擎,也可以发音(有点难听),比如英语(英音、美音)、法语、日语等(没有汉语的TTS)。
(2) OCR识别。在读PDF的时候,OCR也许能派上大用场。总之“相当凑合”的功能 :-)

大虾,请问如何去掉试用期?
我装了Babylon pro 5+ Oxford dictionary and thesaurus, 但再装别的词典如Merriam-webster等就都是试用版了,30天过期,虽然有序列号,可没地方输啊,如果我在menu那里输入,是不是原来的Oxford就会变成试用版?
企盼赐教。

在Configuration->Licenses里面输入,另外最好用防火墙软件把Babylon拦截,不让它访问网络。
